A selection of 10 images from London today including one almighty mustache and a shot of the tail end of the protest. All of the above were saved as JPEG from RAW in the editing software so no other editing has been done. (:
Today I spent the day in London wow-ing at everything which I couldn't afford to buy in Camden Market, eating chicken in KFC and taking lots of photographs during the protest (: I am now going to buy myself an Angry Birds hat from eBay and force myself to stay awake...

Examples/final images of what I got from today will be up within the next few days.

Tuesday 29 November 2011

Trying to plan everything is confusing me so much... fitting college and work around my 'social life' is going to drive me mad. Seems to be helping writing it all out though so for Christmas, a 2012 diary would be helpful. Need to contact Flares in town about getting paid for the two shifts I completed; if they won't phone me back for more shifts then screw them... I just want paying for what I had done then I won't bother. 'We'll phone you back' ch'yeah right.

Gah, I need to keep to deadlines, I need to keep on top of my work and I can't slip; I cannot catch up like I thought I'd be able to. I also need to keep myself motivated to do work and to not give up... I'd say challenge accepted, but I know it'll be the most difficult part of it all.

"Hello me, meet the real me. and my misfits way of life."

Friday 25 November 2011

Yesterday I went to the Swansea Metropolitan University for their open day and taster course in Photography/Photojournalism.

We had a tour around the campus which has 2 massive black and white film developing and printing rooms, colour film developing and printing rooms; both with 35mm, 120 and 5x4" enlargers in them, a huge studio, a camera store with digital Hassleblads, Canon 5D mark iis, 5x4 cameras, medium format cameras, studio lighting and location lighting kits which can all be borrowed and such and such.

We then had used some location lighting both indoors in the library and then outside; it was fortunate for me that the indoor location lighting kit was the Bowens one which I use in college :3 -smug-. The outdoors lighting kit was different and very compaq but it was still fairly simple to use.

The facilities there were brilliant also with Costa vending machines! :3

Overall; ich mag ganz viel! super glücklich.

Tuesday 22 November 2011

Today my old attitude of waking up and wanting to go back to sleep returned; but instead of going back to sleep and avoiding my daily tasks I actually got myself out of it and done what I needed to do.
I now have my 4 final 5x4 prints done and I will hopefully be able to get my negatives scanned in. (:

Off to Peterborough Library I go!

Monday 21 November 2011

successful darkroom print from today! the best quality image of it I could get for now... hopefully I'll be able to get my mits on some fibrebased A3 paper and then do one of these for my portfolio :).

I have achieved today; this and lots of other contact prints!

18/11/2011 - What have I achieved?
I managed to hand in my Toni & Guy assignment on time and I took the large format camera home to do some shooting with.

19/11/2011 - What have I achieved?
Today I have taken my two Polly Chandler inspired images on a 5x4 camera. It'll be Monday when I come to developing my negatives and then and printing from them. I have also found out the governors of both Peterborough and Whitemoor prisons! :)

'What have I achieved today?'

is the question I should be asking myself at the end of every single day; so every single day I am going to ask myself this very question and write a post on here about it.

So, what have I achieved today?
Today I have handed in my architecture assignment to a standard I am pleased with and also my contextual studies essay. I have also organised using the large format camera over the weekend and have bought my train tickets to Swansea for the university open day.

I need to finish off my work for my Toni & Guy brief due today and to find my journal.

Wednesday 16 November 2011

These are 3 of the images which I took on my trip to London on the 15th November 2011. The top one is the interior of the Lloyds building and the other two are the interior of London City Hall. All of these are untouched and unedited images which I will tweak before handing in and then uploading to here and on my Facebook; but for now, this is your preview. (:
I have also stopped putting my font on the smallest one but only the small one - slowly getting to using bigger fonts :')

Example image from todays shoot... editing and final images to come :).
I am so fed up with everyone.

I should know by now if I want something done, to do it myself... I've always said I'd be better off by myself and now, I guess this is becoming more and more apparent to me.

Tuesday 15 November 2011

Finally home after a busy day in London; so tired.

At first I got some interior shots of the Lloyds building and got to go up and down the really tall elevators on the outside of the building... have to say it was absolutely terrifying. |:

After Lloyds we found our way to City Hall and got some interiors there; the man was absolutely lovely. Was hoping The Mayor didn't walk in mid-way through taking photographs otherwise it would've been awkward.

After our shooting we spent some time looking around Camden Market and Covent Gardens :). After a nap image editing and uploading it shall be!

Monday 14 November 2011

I have received confirmation from Swansea Metropolitan University about attending their taster day in Photojournalism :). Now I need to talk to my tutor about getting the day or two off college so I can attend which'll also give me an opportunity to take some more photos. If I can take a tripod when I visit then I am going to experiment with slow shutter star trails and possibly do some landscape work.

I have also developed some medium format portraits which I had used as experimental work for when I do my large format Polly Chandler style images like the one below:

Hopefully I can do contact prints and maybe a final print or two of my medium format negatives and also try to get them scanned digitally so I can upload them onto here.

Today I'll be going to London with my friend Joanne to shoot the interior of the City Hall and of the Lloyds building! Hopefully it'll be a good chance to visit Camden to take some street portraits also for another assignment.

All in all, a fairly positive mood for me :). Apart it being at the wrong time in the day; need to shift this motivation from 4:40am to a human hour.

Saturday 12 November 2011

Today I'm going to be doing some portrait shots of my family using the Mamiya RZ67 pro ii. I'm fairly confident that I can work the camera well enough to actually get some images... now all I need to do is to get dressed and go take photos.

Thursday 10 November 2011

There's nothing I love more than getting bouts of motivation out of absolutely nowhere.
I know I need to work on my self motivation but gaining motivation out of nowhere is a start. I hope things go well and then I'll be happy.

Things go well = happy chloe = motivation to do stuff!

Also, after visiting Swansea this weekend, I have decided I want to look at the Metropolitan University there because they do photojournalism C:

Best photo from my journey to Swansea has to be without a doubt this one. The single most amazing thing I have seen in my whole entire life! :}

Wednesday 2 November 2011

So yesterday in London turned out to be... half-successful. Successful for everyone who got to take a large format image apart from myself and a friend aaand to those who got to pay £5 less for their trains there :).

Note to self: get a photography permit if I want to shoot the City Hall.
